New Eligibility Threshold Opens Monetization Opportunities at 500 Subscribers

YouTube is expanding its Shopping affiliate program to include creators with at least 500 subscribers, provided they are part of the YouTube Partner Program and meet eligibility criteria.

The update lowers the entry threshold, allowing more creators to start earning earlier by tagging products in their content across Shorts, video-on-demand and live streams. Viewers can browse and purchase recommended products directly while watching content across devices.

The expansion enables creators to diversify revenue streams through affiliate commissions while integrating shopping experiences into their content. It also aims to strengthen creator-audience relationships by allowing creators to share product recommendations in a more seamless and interactive way.
