OpenAI is making its ChatGPT Go subscription free for Indian users for one year via a limited-time sign-up window beginning November 4, aligned with the company’s first DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru. ChatGPT Go is the mid-tier plan launched in India at ₹399 per month in August 2025 with UPI support, offering higher message limits, image generation, file uploads and longer memory than the free tier. Existing Go subscribers in India will also receive an additional 12 months at no cost, with redemption details to be shared by the company. The move focuses on wider access and adoption in India, which OpenAI identifies as a key market with strong user growth. ChatGPT Go has expanded globally, but the year-long free access is specifically targeted at Indian users who enroll during the promotional period starting November 4
