Samsung has introduced the One UI 8.5 beta program, offering updates focused on improving usability, device interaction and security across the Galaxy ecosystem. The beta is initially available for Galaxy S25 series users in select regions beginning December 8, 2025.

The update includes changes to content creation tools, particularly Photo Assist, which now allows users to generate and edit images continuously without saving each step. All edited versions can be reviewed later through the edit history. Sharing functions have also been adjusted, with Quick Share now able to detect people in photos and suggest sending images to those contacts directly.

In terms of connectivity, One UI 8.5 adds features intended to support easier cross-device interaction. Audio Broadcast enables sharing audio with nearby LE Audio–supported devices and also supports broadcasting the user’s voice through the phone’s microphone. Storage Share allows files across Galaxy phones, tablets, PCs and supported Samsung TVs to appear within the My Files app, providing broader access across devices.

Security updates include Theft Protection, which helps secure the device if it is lost, and Failed Authentication Lock, which activates when multiple incorrect verification attempts occur. Additional identity checks have been added to protect more system settings.
