Meta Broadcom AI Partnership Focuses on Custom Silicon Development

Meta has expanded its partnership with Broadcom to co-develop custom AI chips for its platforms and services.

The collaboration focuses on building multiple generations of Meta’s MTIA chips, designed for AI training, inference, and recommendation systems. These chips aim to improve performance and cost efficiency across Meta’s AI workloads.

Broadcom will support chip design, packaging, and networking, using its XPU platform to help develop scalable AI accelerators. The partnership also includes advanced networking technologies to support high-bandwidth data transfer across large AI infrastructure systems.

Meta plans to deploy over 1 gigawatt of custom silicon initially, with a roadmap to expand to multiple gigawatts over time.
