Nokia Orange AI-RAN Collaboration Explores AI-Driven Network Performance

Nokia and Orange have expanded their partnership to develop AI-driven radio access network (AI-RAN) technologies with support from NVIDIA.

The collaboration focuses on integrating AI into radio networks using Nokia’s anyRAN 5G software and NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure. The goal is to improve network performance, energy efficiency, and enable new services such as integrated sensing and communication.

The initiative will explore how GPU-based processing can enhance radio performance and how AI can optimise functions like scheduling, beamforming, and power management. It also aims to support predictive optimisation and automation across cloud-based and traditional network environments.

As part of long-term planning, the companies are also working toward 6G-ready solutions, enabling smoother transitions to future network technologies.
