Samsung SmartThings Family Care Update Expands AI Home Features
Samsung Electronics has updated its SmartThings platform with new features focused on family care and personalised home insights.
The update strengthens the Family Care service, allowing users to monitor and support elderly family members remotely. It includes features such as activity tracking, medication reminders, location alerts, and a new Care on Call function that provides real-time updates before phone calls.
SmartThings can also monitor home conditions like temperature, humidity, and air quality, sending alerts for unusual patterns and enabling remote control of connected devices. The Safety Patrol feature uses a robot vacuum with a camera for remote home checks and communication.
The update also expands Now Brief, a personalised information service available on Galaxy devices, which will roll out to TVs and Family Hub refrigerators. It provides updates on home status, energy usage, sleep data, and family activity in one view.
