Daikin U.S. Corporation is taking a leading role at Climate Week NYC 2025, focusing on building decarbonization and energy resilience through its three-pillar strategy addressing America’s environmental and energy challenges. Buildings contribute roughly 75% of New York City’s greenhouse gas emissions, while global air conditioning and data center electricity demand continue to rise, underscoring the need for scalable solutions.
Yoshiyuki Uemura, President of Daikin U.S., emphasized that climate change, energy resilience, and affordability are interconnected challenges that require integrated solutions. Daikin’s Environmental Vision 2050 has already achieved a 27% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2019, aiming for net-zero operations by 2050. Key strategies include the deployment of heat pumps, inverter compressors, R-32 refrigerants, commercial VRV systems, smart energy management, circular economy practices, and supportive policy frameworks.
During Climate Week, Daikin will host and participate in events including a circular economy panel on September 23 with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Pillars of the Green Transition Conference on September 24 with Newsweek, highlighting its sustainability leadership and energy resilience initiatives.
Daikin’s U.S. operations, generating $10.6 billion in FY2024, employ over 25,000 people across 25 production facilities and 9 R&D centers. Following NYC Climate Week, the company will continue its climate leadership at COP30 in Brazil this November, promoting energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions to reduce emissions and ease grid strain.
