GE Appliances has been named Smart Appliance Company of the Year for 2026 by IoT Breakthrough as part of its annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program. This marks the ninth consecutive year GE Appliances has received this recognition.
The award highlights the company’s work in connected and smart home technologies across its appliance portfolio. A key part of this effort is SmartHQ, a platform that connects appliances and related services to enable remote monitoring, automation and data driven features.
SmartHQ supports functions such as personalized assistance for cooking, laundry and home maintenance. Examples include tools that guide stain removal, adjust wash cycles, support recipe planning and monitor cooking processes. The platform also includes SmartOrder, which tracks usage patterns and helps automate the replenishment of consumables like filters and detergents.
GE Appliances is also extending connectivity into water and energy management. Products such as smart water softeners, filtration systems and hybrid heat pump water heaters use connected features to support leak detection, energy monitoring and efficiency optimization.
The IoT Breakthrough Awards evaluate companies and products across multiple IoT categories based on industry impact and implementation.
