GE HealthCare Acquires Intelerad to Strengthen AI and Cloud Imaging Solutions
GE HealthCare has completed the acquisition of Intelerad for $2.3 billion in cash, aiming to expand its enterprise imaging capabilities.
The acquisition strengthens GE HealthCare’s presence across ambulatory care, teleradiology and hospital imaging by integrating Intelerad’s cloud-based software and customer base. This supports the development of a connected imaging ecosystem that combines AI, digital tools and SaaS solutions.
The combined platform is designed to simplify workflows, improve clinical insights and support faster deployment of imaging systems. It also aligns with GE HealthCare’s strategy to expand cloud-first and AI-enabled healthcare solutions.
Intelerad will operate within GE HealthCare’s Imaging business and continue serving customers across the US, Canada, the UK and Oceania.
The company expects Intelerad to contribute around $270 million in annual revenue, with a high share of recurring income. The acquisition is expected to support long-term growth and improve operational efficiency across imaging services.
