JBL has announced the launch of the Boombox 4, its latest portable speaker, which delivers stronger sound, added bass features and improved portability. Compared to its predecessor, the Boombox 4 is nearly 2 pounds lighter yet provides 50% more power output on battery, combining convenience with high performance.
The new model features JBL’s AI Sound Boost, which enhances audio by letting the drivers push harder without distortion, producing clearer highs and deeper lows. A new Bass Boost option gives listeners two modes: Deep Bass for fuller tones and Punchy Bass for energetic tracks. LED-lit JBL logos on the bass radiators glow when Bass Boost is active, adding a visual element to the sound experience.
Other improvements include a third passive radiator and two mid-range drivers, USB-C lossless audio support, and Auracast for multi-speaker pairing. The device is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use. Battery life reaches up to 28 hours, or 34 with Playtime Boost, and now comes with a replaceable battery for extended usability.
Available in Black, Blue and Squad designs, the Boombox 4 will release on September 28, 2025 at $549.95.
