LG and aiMotive have revealed a next generation High Performance Computing Lite platform designed to support the growing complexity of software defined vehicles. The platform brings core vehicle functions together by integrating In Vehicle Infotainment and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems into a single unified architecture. This approach allows vehicles to process data more efficiently while improving responsiveness and overall driving safety.
The HPC Lite platform serves as a central computing unit built on an advanced system on chip and supported by aiMotive’s aiDrive software. By consolidating multiple electronic control units into one platform, the design reduces hardware complexity and lowers component costs for automakers. The system is intended to support high data workloads required by modern vehicles while maintaining reliability and safety.
The integrated aiDrive software enables Level 2 plus navigation assisted driving on highways and selected secondary roads without relying on high definition maps. It supports features such as traffic light recognition adaptive speed assistance lane changes and merging support. Inside the cabin the platform delivers a unified digital cockpit with clear visualizations of surroundings and alerts to help drivers stay informed with minimal distraction.
LG and aiMotive plan to continue their collaboration to deliver scalable solutions for global automakers. The HPC Lite platform will be introduced publicly at CES 2026.
