Motivair by Schneider Electric has announced a new range of coolant distribution units designed to support the increasing thermal demands of high performance computing and AI workloads. The company introduced two new models, the MCDU-45 and MCDU-55, which are purpose built for installation beyond traditional white space areas, including utility corridors.
The new CDUs are intended to give data center operators greater flexibility in how liquid cooling infrastructure is deployed. Both models support wider cooling capacities and operating temperature ranges, allowing improved integration with chiller plants and more efficient use of chilled water. This approach can help reduce overall energy consumption, improve system uptime, and lower operating costs.
With these additions, Motivair by Schneider Electric now offers a broader portfolio of liquid cooling solutions, including floor mounted CDUs and in rack units. The expanded range is designed to support hyperscale, AI factory, colocation, edge, and retrofit environments as compute densities continue to rise.
The new CDUs will be available globally, with production ramping up in early 2026. These products are the first to be launched since Schneider Electric completed its acquisition of Motivair in February 2025, reflecting a growing focus on scalable and efficient cooling solutions for AI driven data center infrastructure.
