Samsung, organised a felicitation ceremony at Brainware University, Kolkata, recognising 750 students who completed courses under the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme. This initiative is part of Samsung’s plan to skill 20,000 young people across India in 2025. The current group includes 400 participants trained in AI Coding & Programming and 350 in Artificial Intelligence, reflecting growing demand for digital skills in emerging tech fields.
The event was attended by representatives from Brainware University, the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), and Samsung leadership. The programme aligns with West Bengal’s evolving position as a growing hub for engineering, science, and digital capabilities, contributing to the state’s increasing focus on workforce development in technology.
Samsung Innovation Campus offers modules in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming, supporting national initiatives such as Skill India and Digital India. The programme emphasises accessibility, with women participation and outreach to aspirational districts and semi-urban regions. Alongside technical training, SIC provides soft-skills support, career guidance, and placement assistance.
The initiative, conducted across multiple states including recent events in Gorakhpur, is complemented by Samsung’s DOST programme, which aims to prepare youth for frontline roles in the retail sector.
