Siemens has introduced Electrical Designer, a new feature within the TIA Selection Tool Cloud, designed to simplify and accelerate electrical design for industrial machinery. This software enables standards-compliant dimensioning of electrical equipment from switchgear to cable sizing while integrating IEC 60204-1 requirements directly into the workflow. By automatically selecting components, verifying short-circuits, sizing cables, and generating documentation, the tool significantly reduces manual work and the risk of errors.
Electrical Designer addresses common industry challenges such as reliance on outdated plans and inconsistent data transfer between mechanical and electrical design processes. Its automation capabilities can cut planning time by up to half while improving design accuracy and consistency. The tool also supports end-to-end short-circuit analysis, ensuring compliance from the load to the feed point, and offers a built-in knowledge base for IEC standards.
