Toshiba Corporation has signed a Letter of Intent with Qazpost JSC, Kazakhstan’s national postal operator, to collaborate on improving warehouse efficiency through the use of Autonomous Mobile Robots. The agreement was signed at Toshiba’s headquarters in Kawasaki and marks a step toward modernizing logistics operations to support growing e-commerce demand in the region.
Kazakhstan’s role as a logistics hub connecting Asia and Europe has driven rapid growth in parcel volumes, increasing the need for faster and more accurate warehouse operations. To address this, Qazpost plans to expand its delivery outsourcing services for e-commerce companies.
In April 2025, Toshiba and Qazpost conducted a joint demonstration of a Goods-to-Person system at the Astana Fulfillment Center. The system uses Autonomous Mobile Robots to move entire shelves directly to picking staff, reducing walking time and improving accuracy. Following positive results from the trial, the new agreement supports preparations for full-scale deployment.
Under the LOI, Qazpost will gather customer requirements and work with Toshiba to co-develop operational models and warehouse solutions using Toshiba’s AMR technology. Toshiba also plans to relocate its demonstration equipment to customer sites for further trials and aims to secure new orders in the first half of fiscal year 2026.
