PGA TOUR Studios has deployed Sennheiser’s Spectera wireless audio system across its new production campus in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. With seven studios and up to 11 shows broadcasting at once, the facility required a stable, flexible solution to handle its complex audio needs. Spectera’s bidirectional design and compact setup made it a strong fit.

The system includes two base stations and 24 combined microphones and IFB units, with signals sent through seven antennas. Unlike traditional systems, Spectera combines microphones, IFBs and control data into a single wideband RF channel, simplifying frequency planning and cabling. This helps staff focus on production rather than infrastructure.

Spectera has performed well under pressure, even during major events like THE PLAYERS Championship, with no signal drops despite heavy RF traffic. Bodypacks worked reliably across the large facility, even in distant corners.

Battery changes during live broadcasts are quick, taking only a few seconds. Packs last up to seven hours. The system integrates with Dante and Calrec 2110 audio networks, maintaining sound quality without delay.

Staff can manage and monitor all packs and base stations through a web interface from any computer on the network. Spectera’s reliable performance has made it a central part of PGA TOUR Studios’ broadcast workflow.
