Schneider Electric has announced it will buy the remaining 35% stake in its Indian joint venture from Temasek for €5.5 billion. This move will give Schneider full ownership of Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd.
With this acquisition, Schneider will now fully control its India operations. The company said this will help speed up decision-making and allow it to position India as one of its four main global hubs. India is already its third-largest market, where Schneider operates 31 factories and several distribution centres.
The deal is part of Schneider’s broader strategy to grow in India. The company has plans to increase its capacity in the country by 2.5 to 3 times and is expecting double-digit yearly growth in its India business. In 2024, SEIPL brought in about €1.8 billion in revenue, with India sales including exports touching €2.5 billion.
