Canon has been named a Supplier Engagement Leader in the 2024 CDP Supplier Engagement Rating. This is the fourth time since 2022 that Canon has received the recognition from CDP, a U.K.-based non-profit that evaluates how well companies work with suppliers to address climate change.

Canon was selected for its efforts to cut carbon emissions not just at its own facilities, but also across its supply chain. The company set a goal in 2008 to improve the CO2 efficiency of its products by 3% each year. It continues to work with suppliers to measure emissions, choose lower-emission materials, and apply sustainability guidelines.

Canon also shares climate-related requests and conducts surveys with its suppliers. It ensures the accuracy of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data, including Scope 3 emissions, through third-party verification.
