LG has released its 2024–2025 Sustainability Report, showing progress toward its 2030 environmental goals. The company’s total Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2024 were 910,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent, close to its target of 878,000 tons. This progress comes from using energy-efficient equipment and carbon-reduction technologies in its operations.
LG also reduced product-related (Scope 3) emissions by 19.4% compared to 2020, mainly by using AI and energy-saving features. It aims for a 20% cut in Scope 3 emissions by 2030 across key product categories. LG is the first South Korean home appliance company with SBTi-approved targets.
In terms of waste, LG achieved a 97.4% recycling rate at its global manufacturing sites in 2024, surpassing its 2030 target. It also collected over 530,000 tons of used electronics and increased its use of recycled plastic by 36% in one year.
The company is also improving accessibility in its products with features like screen readers, adjustable kiosks, and hearing aid-compatible audio. It provides support services such as sign language consultations and senior assistance.
