OpenAI has launched GPT-5, it’s latest AI model and is now available to all ChatGPT users. It performs better than earlier versions in areas like writing, coding, health and problem-solving. GPT-5 works through a combination of fast, default answers and a deeper reasoning mode for complex tasks. A routing system automatically decides which mode to use based on the type of query.
The model is designed to follow instructions more carefully and give more accurate responses. It is less likely to make up facts, and when unsure, it clearly explains what it can or cannot do. GPT-5 also reduces overly agreeable behavior and adapts better to different user styles and contexts.
In key areas like software development, health queries and creative writing, GPT-5 shows clear improvement. A special version called GPT-5 Pro handles more advanced and detailed tasks with extended reasoning.
The model is built with a stronger safety framework, especially for sensitive topics. It can also be customized using preset personalities. Free users can access GPT-5 with some usage limits, while Plus and Pro users get higher access. GPT-5 will gradually replace older models like GPT-4o and OpenAI o3 in ChatGPT.
