LG Electronics has been selected to supply cooling solutions for a major AI data center under construction in Jakarta, Indonesia. Once completed, the site will be among the largest AI-focused facilities in the country. The project highlights LG’s role in delivering integrated thermal management systems designed for the heavy demands of AI infrastructure.
LG will provide a full package of technologies, including chillers, computer room air handlers, air handling units, computer room air conditioners and fan wall units. A building management system will also be included for smooth integration and control. These systems are tailored to maintain stable and efficient operation across the facility.
The data center is being developed by LG Sinarmas Technology Solutions, a joint venture between LG CNS and Sinar Mas Group. Located in Jakarta’s central business district, the facility is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026.
A key feature of LG’s package is the Water-cooled Oil-free Centrifugal Chiller, which uses magnetic bearing technology and a low GWP refrigerant. This system improves efficiency, reduces noise, and includes machine learning-based protection for stable performance during power issues.
