LG Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UK-based Octopus Energy Group to strengthen its role in Europe’s clean technology market. The agreement was signed on August 28, 2025 at Octopus Energy’s London headquarters with leaders from both companies present.
The collaboration combines LG’s energy-efficient heating and cooling technologies with Octopus Energy’s AI-driven platform Kraken, which helps households optimize energy usage through real-time renewable pricing. Octopus Energy is the UK’s largest energy supplier and is actively promoting heat pumps as a sustainable alternative to gas boilers and currently operates in over 30 countries serving nearly 10 million customers.
Together the companies plan to introduce a joint solution in markets such as the UK and Germany integrating LG’s high-efficiency heat pumps with the Kraken system. This approach aims to make home heating and cooling more efficient while lowering energy costs. The partnership is expected to expand further into new markets and products.
