In July 2025 Lenovo became part of the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) AI Skills Coalition, a global effort supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The coalition focuses on closing the worldwide gap in AI skills and digital literacy by bringing together governments, academic institutions and industry leaders.

The mission is to make AI education more accessible and inclusive, especially for youth, women and underserved communities. It also aims to provide resources in multiple languages to reduce barriers to learning and participation.

Lenovo’s involvement connects with its broader goal of promoting responsible and inclusive AI. The company has already worked on initiatives that spread digital skills and AI literacy through partnerships with schools and organizations. By joining this coalition, Lenovo will help more people, businesses and communities build skills that can improve productivity and create fair access to technology.
