Siemens has secured approval from EPD-Global for its automated internal tool to create verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), significantly reducing the time and complexity of verification. An EPD serves as an environmental fact sheet for a product, outlining its impact across factors like CO2 emissions, energy use, resource consumption and waste generation.
With this certification Siemens can now publish independently verified EPDs at scale, ensuring high transparency and credibility. This move supports Siemens’ goal of achieving 100% EPD coverage by 2030, building on its existing portfolio where more than 50% of products already have ISO-compliant self-declared EPDs.
