Siemens has partnered with Italian yacht maker Bluegame, part of the Sanlorenzo Group, as its Innovative Technology Partner for the development of the new BGF45 yacht. The model is the first in Bluegame’s BGF range of foiling multihulls, made its debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival.
At the core of this collaboration is Siemens’ SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) a semiconductor-based technology that safeguards the yacht’s electrical systems. Installed in onboard panels, the device allows intelligent management of energy flows and quick fault response, helping to ensure safety and minimize disruptions. It also reduces maintenance costs while adapting to different electrical loads and customization needs of the vessel.
SENTRON ECPD is among the first Siemens products to receive the Siemens EcoTech label, highlighting its reduced environmental impact. By replacing several traditional devices, it cuts space use by about 85 percent and enables significant reductions in electronic components, metals, and plastics.
Bluegame supports sustainability through practices aligned with the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, making Siemens’ solution a strong fit for the new yacht series.
