At the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the US, select fans and guests were given Lenovo devices at their seats. These provided match data, replays, and venue details, offering a new way to follow the action. The trial, which included guests like Ronaldo and David Beckham, will expand at FIFA World Cup 26 across multiple venues.
Lenovo and Motorola worked with FIFA to address logistical challenges such as quick seat personalization, efficient charging, and adapting to different seating layouts. Lenovo Research designed custom mounts for Motorola smartphones and charge boxes that made storing and powering hundreds of devices easier between games.
In addition, Lenovo Tab K11 tablets delivered a more immersive experience, allowing VVIP guests to watch replays and access live match analysis. The technology was well received by FIFA, who see it as a step toward improving hospitality and digital engagement at future tournaments.
With positive results from this pilot, FIFA and Lenovo plan to scale the project for FIFA World Cup 26 and explore further innovations for global events in 2026 and 2027.
