HARMAN International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Sound United, the former consumer audio business of Masimo Corporation. Sound United’s portfolio includes well-known brands such as Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Classé, HEOS and Boston Acoustics.
The move expands HARMAN’s presence in audio categories like home sound systems, amplifiers, hi-fi components, AV receivers, headphones and car audio. Sound United will operate as a standalone unit within HARMAN’s Lifestyle Division, keeping each brand’s heritage intact while benefiting from HARMAN’s global reach and resources.
According to HARMAN, the integration of Sound United’s brands and expertise will strengthen its product offerings, expand market opportunities and accelerate progress in audio technology. By combining the two businesses, HARMAN aims to broaden its global footprint and offer consumers more choice in listening experiences across different environments.
