Google has announced a $4 billion investment in Arkansas through 2027, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the state. The initiative includes Google’s first data center in Arkansas, located in West Memphis, along with investments in cloud and AI infrastructure to strengthen digital capacity in the region.

A central part of this commitment focuses on energy resilience and affordability. Google is launching a $25 million Energy Impact Fund to support energy efficiency and affordability programs for residents in Crittenden County and nearby communities. In collaboration with Entergy, the company will also introduce a 600 MW solar project to the grid and implement programs designed to help reduce energy consumption during peak demand hours.

Alongside infrastructure, the investment emphasizes workforce development. Google is partnering with the Arkansas Department of Commerce to provide no-cost access to Google AI courses and Career Certificates to residents. The program begins with students at the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State University and aims to strengthen the state’s talent pipeline in technology and innovation.

Through these combined efforts, Google seeks to support Arkansas’s economic growth, expand renewable energy access, and contribute to advancing the U.S. role in AI innovation.
