Siemens has partnered with Airbus to decarbonize four major industrial sites in the U.S. and U.K., aiming to reduce energy consumption by 20% and Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 85% by 2030. The initiative leverages scalable solutions, including renewable energy integration, smart energy management, low-carbon heat systems, and energy efficiency upgrades, supported by Capgemini for consulting, digitalization, and project management.

The project will create site-specific decarbonization masterplans, using tools such as Energy System Twins to model optimal roadmaps. Key measures include heat pump deployment, on-site renewable energy, smart metering, and automated energy monitoring systems. Siemens will also provide long-term operation and maintenance support to ensure efficiency and resilience.

This strategic contract builds on decades of collaboration between Siemens and Airbus in automation, software, and building technologies. The program marks a major step in Airbus’ sustainability agenda, targeting 80 kt CO2e abatement annually by 2030, while demonstrating scalable, replicable solutions for industrial decarbonization and operational resilience.
