Nikon has announced the launch of the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR, a standard zoom lens designed for APS-C size/DX-format mirrorless cameras. Covering focal lengths from 16mm to 50mm (equivalent to 24–75mm in FX format), the lens offers a constant f/2.8 aperture, delivering smooth, natural bokeh and strong low-light performance. Equipped with a built-in vibration reduction (VR) system providing up to 5.0-stop compensation, it ensures stability even at slower shutter speeds.

The lens features one ED glass element and two aspherical elements to minimize aberrations, achieving sharp, color-accurate images. With a minimum focus distance of 0.15 m, it allows dynamic close-up shots. Despite its high performance, the lens remains lightweight and compact (88 mm), making it highly portable.

Designed with video creators in mind, the lens includes a stepping motor (STM) for silent autofocus and reduced focus breathing, plus a customizable control ring. When paired with the Nikon Z50II, Hi-Res Zoom extends the zoom range to 16–100 mm while maintaining f/2.8 brightness and full resolution. Built with dust- and drip-resistance, the new NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR combines versatility, precision, and portability—ideal for both photography and videography.
