Toshiba has launched its new SCiB™ 24V battery pack (P25H20-3), a lithium-ion solution designed for automotive, marine, and industrial applications, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional lead-acid batteries. The new pack, built with 20Ah-HP SCiB™ cells, matches the JIS D23 size standard, allowing easy replacement of conventional 24V units.
The battery’s scalable design up to 2 in series and 6 in parallel (48V, 5.76kWh)enables flexibility across various power needs, from engine starts to heavy-duty operations in trucks, buses, and construction machinery. Notably, Yamaha Motor has adopted the new SCiB™ batteries to power its electric sightseeing boat, “e-Float Terrace,” equipped with twenty–four SCiB™ 24V packs.
Set to launch operations in Yokohama, Japan, the e-Float Terrace integrates Yamaha’s HARMO electric propulsion system to offer eco-friendly cruises along the Minato Mirai waterfront. The collaboration underscores Toshiba’s commitment to environmentally conscious mobility and long-lasting battery innovation, supporting the transition toward electrified marine and industrial transport.
