Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited has partnered with Eco-Bos to deliver smart home technology for the West Carclaze Garden Village in Cornwall one of the UK’s first carbon-positive communities. The project, comprising 1,500 homes within 500 acres, aims to redefine sustainable living by combining energy-efficient housing with cutting-edge connected technologies.

Each home will feature Samsung’s SmartThings platform, allowing residents to manage heating, lighting, appliances, and security through one app. The houses are equipped with Samsung heat pumps, climate hubs, solar PV systems, and smart appliances designed to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. Integrated AI Energy Mode helps optimize energy use automatically, enabling residents to lower energy costs and improve efficiency.

The community is supported by a 7.5 MW solar farm and boasts EPC A-rated homes — a rating achieved by only 0.3% of UK homes. According to assessments, residents could save or even earn up to £3,498 annually compared to the average UK household’s energy expenses.

This collaboration demonstrates how technology and sustainability can work together to create energy-efficient, comfortable, and connected living spaces setting a new benchmark for smart, eco-friendly housing developments in the UK.
