Samsung Electronics has introduced Galaxy XR, a new category of AI-native devices developed with Google and Qualcomm. Built on the new Android XR platform, it aims to combine extended reality and artificial intelligence for work, learning and entertainment. The headset supports multimodal AI through voice, vision and gestures, creating a more natural way to interact with technology.
Galaxy XR allows users to explore 3D maps, watch videos, play games and create or edit content in immersive ways. With features like Circle to Search, AI-assisted video spatialization and pass-through vision, users can move easily between real and virtual environments. Powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip, the device offers clear visuals, spatial sound and up to 2.5 hours of usage.
Samsung is also working on other XR devices like AI glasses in collaboration with Google and fashion brands such as Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. The Galaxy XR will be available in the US from October 21 and in Korea from October 22.
