Toshiba Group announced it will implement a new Business Segment structure on November 1, 2025, establishing three segments: Energy Solutions, Digital Infrastructure Solutions, and Devices & Technology. This restructuring supports the goals of “Toshiba’s Revitalization Plan,” introduced in May 2024, to achieve sustainable mid- to long-term growth.
The company will also introduce a Chief Operating Officer system, appointing President and CEO Taro Shimada and Senior Executive Vice President Koji Ikeya as Co-COOs to enhance operational efficiency and execution. The new framework aims to strengthen profitability, improve agility, and align business activities with evolving market and customer needs driven by global trends such as carbon neutrality, AI expansion, and data growth.
The Energy Solutions BS will focus on supporting carbon neutrality through power generation and energy services; Digital Infrastructure Solutions will enhance public and defense services using AI and digital technologies; and Devices & Technology will advance energy-efficient semiconductors, high-capacity HDDs, and manufacturing equipment.
