Pragya Misra promoted to Head of Strategy & Global Affairs, India at OpenAI

Pragya Misra has been elevated to Head of Strategy & Global Affairs, India at OpenAI. In her new role, she will lead OpenAI’s strategic direction in one of the world’s fastest-growing AI markets, aligning product, policy, partnerships, and go-to-market priorities. Her work focuses on advancing responsible and human-centered AI innovation while strengthening OpenAI’s presence and impact in India.

Pragya earlier led Public Policy & Partnerships for OpenAI India and has held leadership roles at Truecaller, WhatsApp, and the Royal Danish Embassy. She was the first communications hire for WhatsApp in India, where she helped shape the platform’s brand and policy narrative. Her experience also spans EY and her own venture, MBA-Infosoft Pvt Ltd. Pragya’s career reflects her consistent focus on connecting innovation with real-world impact and enabling India’s growth in responsible AI adoption.
