Sachin Katti has joined OpenAI as Head of Compute Infrastructure after serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology & AI Officer at Intel Corporation. At Intel, he led AI strategy, product development, and research through Intel Labs and also headed the Network and Edge Group (NEX), driving innovation in networking and edge computing. At OpenAI, he will lead the design and scaling of compute infrastructure to support AGI research and global applications.
Before Intel, Sachin was a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University and co-founded startups including Kumu Networks and Uhana (acquired by VMware). His research and entrepreneurial work have earned him several honors, including the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award (Honorable Mention) and the IEEE/ACM William Bennett Prize. He holds a PhD from MIT and a BTech from IIT Bombay.
