Canon has received two major recognitions at the DFA Design for Asia Awards 2025, hosted by the Hong Kong Design Centre. The company earned the Grand Award for its EOS R50 V APS-C mirrorless camera and the Silver Award for its EOS R1 full-frame mirrorless model.
The EOS R50 V was recognized for its design focused on video creators and livestreamers. Its compact build, smooth grip, and adaptable touch interface support one-handed and vertical shooting. The camera also includes a tripod mount for vertical use and eliminates the traditional viewfinder for a clean, linear look that pairs well with video accessories.
The EOS R1, Canon’s first flagship model in the EOS R System, was honored for its balance of performance and usability. Featuring a new image processing system and AI-based deep learning, it delivers professional-grade photography. The enhanced rubber grip design provides stability and comfort. The EOS R1 has also earned awards from Good Design, Red Dot, and iF Design in 2025.
