Meta has opened applications for its 2026 Data Center Community Action Grants, extending the program to seven additional communities hosting new data centers, including locations in South Carolina, Ohio, Wyoming, Indiana, Alabama, Louisiana, and Minnesota. The program, active since 2011, provides direct funding to schools, nonprofits, and community groups to support projects that strengthen local communities and enhance STEAM education. Applications are open until November 21, 2025.
To date, Meta has contributed more than $74 million globally to data center communities, with $24 million awarded through this grant program. The funding has supported initiatives such as technology integration, community development, and long-term STEAM learning opportunities. Grant recipients can reapply annually, enabling sustained growth for ongoing projects.
Examples of impact include expanded engineering and AI educational programs at Northern Illinois University, a high-tech STEM Center for middle schoolers in Los Lunas, New Mexico, and digital media and STEM training for at-risk youth in Fort Worth, Texas. These initiatives demonstrate how local organizations are using Meta’s support to develop skills, boost workforce readiness, and create positive community outcomes.
