Godrej Enterprises Group has received the Water Positive certification from TÜV India Private Limited after an independent assessment of all 25 manufacturing plants within its operational boundary. The organisation achieved a Water Positive Index of 1.87, indicating that it replenishes more water than it consumes through various on-site initiatives. TÜV India’s audit covered water accounting practices, recharge and recycling systems, consumption data, and the monitoring and quality assurance processes followed across locations.
According to the company, this certification supports its ongoing focus on responsible and regenerative water management. Tejashree Joshi, Head of Environmental Sustainability at Godrej Enterprises Group, stated that the recognition validates the company’s efforts to restore water resources and ensure transparent measurement of outcomes.
Water stewardship continues to be an integral part of the group’s environmental strategy. Measures such as rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge and wastewater recycling have contributed to a reduction in total water usage. At the Vikhroli campus, rainwater harvesting systems have the capacity to replenish over 4,25,000 cubic metres of water annually. Over the past year, the organisation recharged and reused more than 2.02 billion litres of water. This certification reflects the group’s commitment to sustainable operations and resource conservation.
