Panasonic Connect has joined the Valuable 500, an international initiative focused on promoting disability inclusion and creating an environment where people of all abilities can thrive. The company’s commitment was announced on the Valuable 500’s official site, reflecting its intention to strengthen inclusion within its organization and contribute to a more accessible society.
The initiative, launched at the World Economic Forum in 2019, encourages global businesses to integrate disability inclusion into their strategies. Panasonic Connect’s leadership emphasized that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is central to the company’s long-term approach and to building workplaces where employees can apply their strengths.
Panasonic Connect’s pledges focus on improving corporate culture, incorporating feedback from employees with disabilities, and enhancing accessibility through technology. Interviews with employees and supervisors guided new systems such as the development of an automatic door opening solution. The company also leverages expertise from its two special purpose subsidiaries, which work closely with people with disabilities.
Beyond internal efforts, Panasonic Connect contributes to community initiatives such as the Okayama Kibi Wheelchair Friendship Road Race, supporting inclusive experiences through sports. The company intends to continue advancing accessibility within the workplace and in society through ongoing collaboration and action.
