LG Electronics has announced that Lyu Jae cheol will take over as Chief Executive Officer from December 1. He has been leading the LG Home Appliance Solution Company where he supported steady growth through stronger B2B business, subscription models and direct to consumer channels. His work has helped keep LG competitive in the global home appliance space.
As CEO he will look to extend LG’s strength in home appliances across the full company. His focus will be on customer value, long term competitiveness and growth.
He began his career in 1989 at Goldstar, now LG Electronics, as a researcher in the Home Appliance Research Center. He has spent many years in home appliance R&D which has shaped his leadership style. Since 2021 he has led the H&A, now HS, Company and helped LG reach the top position globally in home appliances.
He guided the business through slow consumer demand and tough competition while strengthening key products and investing in steady R&D. He also widened the HS portfolio with subscription services, stronger online channels and B2B areas like built in appliances and component solutions.
