HCLTech has entered into a partnership with France-based Dolphin Semiconductor to jointly develop energy-efficient chips for Internet of Things (IoT) and data centre applications. Dolphin Semiconductor offers mixed-signal semiconductor IP solutions used in sectors such as power management, audio, power metering, and design safety, supporting industries including industrial systems, high-performance computing, consumer electronics, IoT, and automotive.

Through this collaboration, HCLTech will incorporate Dolphin Semiconductor’s low-power IPs into its system-on-chip (SoC) design workflows. The companies state that the goal is to create scalable SoCs that manage power consumption effectively while sustaining performance requirements for complex and connected environments. HCLTech highlighted that the partnership aligns with rising energy costs, sustainability considerations, and the growing demands of AI-enabled workloads across edge and data centre settings.

Executives from both companies expressed that the partnership expands access to low-power semiconductor IP and supports efforts in energy-efficient computing across multiple application areas. Financial details and timelines for commercial availability were not disclosed.

HCLTech has been strengthening its semiconductor design capabilities through recent collaborations with companies such as AMD, Arm, and CAST, focusing on AI-oriented, digital, and cloud-aligned hardware and software development.
