Samsung has introduced Digital Key support for select Porsche models through Samsung Wallet, starting with the Macan (MY26) and extending to the Cayenne Electric next year. The update enables users to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles using compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. The integration brings vehicle access into the same interface that already manages payments, IDs, and other digital essentials, allowing drivers to operate their vehicle without switching apps.
Porsche’s newest electric models will be the first to adopt this feature. The digital keys are stored on-device using security standards that include EAL6+ certification and Samsung Knox. Connectivity for authentication is supported through UWB or NFC based on industry standards defined by the Car Connectivity Consortium and FiRa Consortium. Keys can also be shared with trusted contacts, with the option to grant or revoke access at any time.
If a device is lost or stolen, users can manage or deactivate the digital key remotely through Samsung Find. Setup requires linking a vehicle through the My Porsche app before adding the key to Samsung Wallet. The rollout begins in Europe and will expand to additional regions, aligned with the launch timeline of the supported Porsche models.
