Ishika Gupta has been appointed as Director, StarLab at JioStar. In this role, she will lead strategy, innovation, and revenue growth for the organisation’s research and development initiatives. Her responsibilities include advancing work across emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, AR/VR, wearables, and computer vision, as well as designing incubators and innovation programmes in collaboration with venture capital firms, academic institutions, government bodies, and global technology partners.
Before joining JioStar, Gupta served as Head, StarLab at The Walt Disney Company. During her tenure, she was involved in the commercialisation of in-house innovations and the development of partnerships between startups, broadcasters, and advertisers.
Her professional experience spans immersive technologies, media, and technology-led growth. She has also held roles at Tesseract, CNBC, and Harvard Business Review. Across these positions, her work has focused on innovation leadership, ecosystem development, and translating emerging technologies into scalable business applications.
