Mallikarjuna Rao B V has been promoted to Head – Online Sales at Xiaomi India, overseeing online sales across all categories for Xiaomi India and handling the POCO India brand across all sales channels. The appointment marks a leadership transition within the company’s sales organisation.
Prior to this role, Rao served as Senior Director and Head of Channels (Offline Sales) at Xiaomi India. During his tenure, he was involved in steering changes in the offline business, focusing on partner policies, technology-led execution, and coordination with retail and distribution partners. His work was centred on strengthening processes and engagement across the offline channel ecosystem.
Rao brings experience from multiple organisations in the telecom and smartphone sectors. Before joining Xiaomi, he worked at Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) Smartphones as National Sales Head. His earlier roles include Head – 3G, followed by Head – Modern Trade and Zonal Head at Tata Tele Business Services, and Area Sales Manager at Nokia.
In his current assignment, Rao will be responsible for managing Xiaomi’s and POCO’s online sales operations, with a focus on aligning online and offline channels and supporting growth across platforms and product categories.
