Dr. Akhilesh Gandhi appointed as Director and Head of Medical Affairs at Practo

Dr Akhilesh Gandhi has taken charge as Director and Head of Medical Affairs at Practo. In this role he will lead medical affairs and support clinical governance, medical strategy and doctor engagement across Practo’s digital health platform. His focus will be on keeping care evidence based, ethical and patient focused as the company works to improve access and health outcomes at scale in India.

Before joining Practo he worked in senior healthcare consulting roles at PwC where he advised on healthcare strategy, policy design and digital health initiatives. Earlier in his career he worked with Apollo Hospitals and Biocon on healthcare IT, medico commercial strategy and cross functional transformation programs. He also has clinical experience from medical roles at Medway NHS Foundation Trust in the UK and other institutions. He holds an MBA in Healthcare and Strategy from the Indian School of Business and an MBBS with first class honours from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College Nagpur. He is also a recipient of a research scholarship from the Indian Council of Medical Research.
