LG Electronics India leadership met N. Chandrababu Naidu in New Delhi to share progress on its third manufacturing facility in India, located in Sri City.
The discussion highlighted the fast pace of construction and strong coordination between LG and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister appreciated the speed of execution, noting that the project is on track to move from groundbreaking to production within a record 18 months.
The Sri City plant is expected to become operational by December 2026 and will be among LG’s largest factories globally. LG Electronics plans to invest around INR 5001 crore over four years, reinforcing India’s role as a key hub in its global supply chain.
In the initial phase, the facility will manufacture residential air conditioners and AC compressors. Over time, production will expand to refrigerators and washing machines to meet growing domestic demand. A strong focus will also be placed on exports, supporting LG’s goal of making India a global manufacturing base.
The project is expected to generate about 1,495 direct jobs and attract ancillary industries, helping build a strong white goods manufacturing ecosystem in the region. Along with LG’s existing plants in Greater Noida and Pune, the Sri City factory will further localize production, strengthen supply chains in South India and improve access to LG products for consumers.
