Garmin has introduced the tactix 8 Cerakote Edition, a premium tactical smartwatch designed for demanding field use. The new edition adds a hardened ceramic coating for durability along with advanced tactical, performance and navigation features.
The watch features a 1.4 inch AMOLED display, titanium bezel, sapphire lens and a built in LED flashlight for low light conditions. It offers up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. The 51mm case is available with slate gray or olive drab Cerakote finishes which provide abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance while developing a distinct worn look over time.
tactix 8 Cerakote Edition includes tactical tools such as rucking mode, jumpmaster activities, dual coordinate display, Stealth Mode and Applied Ballistics Ultralight support. Performance features include a 40 meter dive rating, strength and sport training plans, real time stamina and 24 by 7 health monitoring. Navigation tools include TopoActive maps, multi band GPS with SatIQ and aviation navigation support. Connectivity features include calls from the wrist, smart notifications and Garmin Pay when paired with a smartphone.
The smartwatch will be available from January 23, 2026 at a suggested retail price of USD 1,599.99.
