Apple has introduced a new generation of AirTag with expanded connectivity range and improved findability. The updated AirTag is designed to help users locate everyday items more easily using the Find My app and is available at the same price as the previous versionat INR 3,790 for a single AirTag and INR 12,900 for a four-pack.
The new AirTag is powered by Apple’s second generation Ultra Wideband chip which enables Precision Finding from up to 50% farther away than before. An upgraded Bluetooth chip further extends tracking range and Precision Finding is now supported on compatible Apple Watch models allowing users to locate items directly from their wrist. The internal design has also been updated to deliver a speaker that is 50% louder making AirTag easier to hear in challenging locations.
AirTag continues to work with the Find My network which uses nearby Apple devices to help locate items when they are out of Bluetooth range. It also supports Share Item Location allowing users to temporarily share an item’s location with trusted third parties such as airlines to help recover delayed luggage.
The new AirTag maintains Apple’s privacy protections against unwanted tracking and is built with recycled materials. It remains compatible with existing AirTag accessories and is available in single and four pack options.
