Canon has received the Platinum sustainability rating from EcoVadis for the second consecutive year. The recognition places Canon among the top 1% of companies assessed globally.
EcoVadis evaluates more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries. The assessment is based on four areas which include environment labor and human rights ethics and sustainable procurement. These ratings are widely used by companies when assessing partners and suppliers as sustainability standards gain importance worldwide.
Canon achieved strong results across all four categories with particularly high scores in environment and labor and human rights. These results reflect the company’s continued focus on strengthening sustainability practices across its global operations.
Canon has set long term environmental goals including achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full product life cycle by 2050. The company has also established science based emissions reduction targets for 2030 covering both direct operations and supply chain activities. Alongside environmental efforts Canon has implemented group wide human rights policies and due diligence processes supported by employee training initiatives in Japan and overseas.
